HOLIDAYS

School holidays have started. Yay. I love them. Not having to be anywhere at a specific time. Sleeping in.
On Friday I spent the day with my sister Cori, 2 of her 3 boys and Riley. We went to Logan where I picked up some sheepskin offcuts to make booties with, then to Ikea for a shopping spree, Yay! that was fun.
We went to the Mudgeeraba show on Saturday. Charlize had a pony ride and got her face painted. Riley spent his pocket money on his first show bag. The weather was nice, but cold. On Sunday I went to the Body Mind and Soul expo in Brisbane. Was very interesting. Wish I had more money to get massage or maybe a reading done. Have never done that before, maybe next year?
Monday was spent at home in my jammies till a late afternoon spotlight trip. Got some nice new wool/soya blend yarns to make booties. Will post pics when complete. Note to self: blog when it happens! xxx

Scoop Neck Swing Top

Have been so busy lately. Don't get me wrong, I love being busy, I need to be busy, but I missed blogging about this latest listing on my madeit store. Nick likes to call it the "pineapple" top. I think it's absolutely georgeous. It's light and breezey, perfect for a day at play. Can also be worn over a long sleeve top. Charlize has a couple in different fabric and loves wearing them to pre-school or birthday parties.

Favourite winter food!

I thought I might throw something about me in a bit more often so you can get to know me. How better to start than with food. I love food and cooking and baking but of late I have not had so much time for it, much to my families disappointment (they have noticed and started asking questions) so I have decided to make more time for it so will post photos and recipes that I love.

When I don't have time for cooking one of my fave winter snacks is avo on toast with cracked pepper and vinegar. mmmmm.

Crochet crazy!

Finished yesterday and now available to purchase at my madeit store is this mesmerising mobile perfect for any new baby's room or aspiring princess.

I loved making this. It brought back memories of making mobiles out of pipe and wood in my dads garage as a child. I will definately be making more of these and have some other great ideas along the same line. Tell me what you think?

SANITY!

Both kids are back at school and pre-school today so feel like I can do something guilt free.
Have just listed this 100% Aust wool scarf on my madeit store. Check it out.

NEXT PROJECT: I have always loved making mobiles ever since I can remember and since starting my business I have been inspired to do it again. I am going to give it a go and see if anyone likes my ideas.

PERSONALISED BABY BLANKETS

I made this winter warmer for my nephew Liam who is turning 1 in August. They are great as keepsakes. Think I might start advertising these for custom orders on my madeit store. What do you think?

Lace?

I had a dream about making lace handbags about a week ago. I just can't seem to stop thinking about them. I'm not sure why, as lace doesn't appeal to me, but I think i'm going to look for some vintage lace and try to recreate what I made in my dream.

Bella Baby Beanie

Everyone around me has had a seasonal cold or some sort of virus, but I seem to have avoided it somehow (touch wood).
I feel like everyone is just starting to get better, so i'm feeling very anxious to get back to making stuff.
Hope you like what I whipped up over the weekend. And I am also very interested to know if anyone recognises this beanie?

BRRRRRR

I have succumb to the cold. When winter hits, there's nothing better than curling up on the couch with my crocheting. The best bit is when the crochet project gets so big that it helps keep me warm.
Charlize has not been well for the past 4 weeks, so she has been staying home from pre-school alot. I haven't had time to do much sewing but have been crocheting while I sit with Charlize on the couch.
I've got my wool box out and am planning on emptying it this winter. Here is the first woolly warmer for the season. Hope you enjoy what's to come.

4 Towel Beach Bag

I listed my first 4 towel beach bag on Sunday. How excited was I when I saw it featured on madeit's Monday Must Haves newsletter. Thanks madeit.com.au
